Live the Spain of 1996
Free open-world life-simulation PC game: a country generated in real time as you move, 24-minute days, villages that grow on their own and period transport. Windows 10/11, version 0.69.0.

TERRA '96 is an open-world life-simulation game set in Spain in 1996. Roads, trains, villages and people are generated in real time as the player moves, and the world keeps running even when you are not looking: villages grow on their own and every in-game day lasts 24 real minutes.
Start with a family, in free mode, at random, by creating your own character or online. Work, shopping, travel and leisure unfold with period details: pesetas, landline phones and phone booths, a travel agency with Mediterranean cruises and an in-game computer or mobile phone to book activities.
Intercity bus, commuter train, taxi or a car bought in instalments, with an in-car driving view, dashboard gauges and an adaptive HUD and minimap.
Free for 64-bit Windows 10 and 11 with DirectX 12. Current version 0.69.0 (10 October 2026), 1,088 MB installer; updates preserve saved games. The project website gathers gallery, installation, manual, cheats, documentation, help and version history.
Enable only what you need and expand as you grow.
